WEEK 2 UNIT 1 A VISIT FROM A PENPAL PERIOD:2 LESSON 2: SPEAK & LISTEN WEEK:1 DATE:__/__/__ I. Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to introduce about themselves and respond to other people * Language contents: +Vocabulary: revise adjectives +Structures: revise simple present tense and suggestion * Techniques: matching, substitution II. Preparation: hand out and poster of model dialogue III. Procedures: T TEACHER’S STUDENTS’ CONTENTS 1. WARM UP -have students write correct form of the verbs on the board -feed back -copy the words on the board and have students do matching in groups 2. PRE SPEAK -set the scene (Maryam is in Vietnam now. She meets Nga) -run through difficult statements -have students complete the dialogue in pairs -feedback -have students practise the dialogue in closed pairs 3. WHILE SPEAK -elicit a new dialogue as model -have students make a new dialogue, using the cues in the book 4. POST SPEAK-set the scene (Jane is inn your home town now) _ Have students personalize the dialogue 5. PRE LISTEN -set the scene(Tim and Carlo are travelling) -run through the pictures 6. while listen -have students listen twice and select the right pictures -feedback -have students listen again and give short answers 7. POST LISTEN -feed back -have students write full answers to summarize the dialogue -feed back -model homework by giving examples -Individually, write correct form of the verbs on the board -correct mistakes (if any) -In pairs, match the nouns with the adjectives -in pairs, put the dialogue in correct order.
